Welcome to Minneapolis and the 2012 Dance Xtreme AmeriCup National Dance Championship now in it's 21st year. We can't wait for you to arrive.
Unlike other 'nationals', the AmeriCup truly is a national competition. The longevity of the competition and fact that teams come from across the United States, Canada and Mexico give credibility to the event. Technically it's an international championship.
The Minneapolis Convention Center Auditorium hosts the National Championship yearly and features plush seating for guests, a professional stage for dancers and exceptional acoustics for sound.

All individual and small group competitions take place on Friday and conclude with their own awards program. Team competition is spread over a three-day time span to accommodate teams wishing to enter multiple styles. For your planning convenience, all pom competition will take place on Friday. Teams entering a pom routine should plan on arriving Thursday evening to ensure adequate prep time prior to the competition. Otherwise teams can arrive Friday at their leisure.
All Dance Xtreme AmeriCup National Dance Champion title holders will be recognized with individual awards, national press release exposure, a banner and team award. National title-holders keep the honor for one year. At the conclusion of that year, the national title is up for grabs at next year's AmeriCup National Championship.
Collegiate athletes are extended perks with regards to registration fees due to the fact that these athletes are paying for school while competing on a dance team. DX AmeriCup allows all collegiate athletes one individual event for FREE. Be sure to take advantage of this amazing offer. Thousands of dollars and elite prize packages await the winners.
The entire weekend is focused on making your dancers' experience in Minneapolis memorable. You decide how much or how little to attend. From the unique Awards Gala on Saturday night to a private dinner just for your team, there's something for everyone at the AmeriCup.

Itinerary
Teams arrive in Minneapolis, check into their hotels and sign in with the DX staff.
Friday, February 24
Individual and small group competition takes place
throughout the day and concludes with an awards ceremony.
All team pom routines also compete on Friday.
Saturday, February 25
Jazz, kick, hip hop and open styles of team competition
scheduled throughout the day. The evening concludes with our
unique semi-formal Awards Gala. New this year, we'll be
incorporating a dance into the evening's festivities.
Imagine the beautiful dresses, fancy hairdos, high heels and
music as our athletes dance the night away and have some
fun. Often kids purchase their dresses at the Mall of
America while they're here. Minnesota has no sales tax on
clothes.
Sunday, February 26
Remaining team competition concludes on Sunday and awards
programs follow. The estimated end time of team competition
is at 7pm.
